Loader flashes and closes before the menu shows

Double-click loader, black console flickers, nothing else. No menu, no error dialog. Game was closed, ran as admin, status page shows clear.
Already tried reinstalling once. Where do people look next — AV, missing runtimes, wrong Windows build?
Classic causes: quarantined dll, incomplete extract, SCUM or Steam still running in background, loading while status is Updating even if you swear it was clear five minutes ago.
Check Defender protection history before third reinstall — you might be downloading into the same quarantine loop.
Flash-close checklist: verify EAC status clear → full folder AV exclusion → restore quarantined files → close SCUM/Steam → run loader as admin from local disk (not zip, not network drive) → confirm Win10/11 requirements.
If console appears, note last line before close — often names missing VC++ runtime or blocked driver. Support page covers log location.
Happened to me when Smart App Control was on — looked like a silent crash. Disable SAC or allow app, then folder exclusion.
Extract to C:\ScumCheats or similar short path. Deep Desktop paths with spaces sometimes break older loaders.
Task Manager → kill stray SCUM/EAC processes before retry. Ghost EAC service keeps hook from attaching and window vanishes.
My flash-close was quarantine + not restoring sibling dlls. Whole-folder exclusion plus restore fixed without new download.
Restored two quarantined files, SAC off, short path extract — menu finally stayed open. Checklist thread saved another reinstall.
